We usually hold group meetings on the first Wednesday of every month except August. Details of each meeting can be found below.
The usual venue for our meetings is
ASHBROOKE SPORTS CLUB
unless notified otherwise. Please meet at 7.30pm for an 8 o'clock start. For December and January, the meetings are at external venues. Please see individual dates for details.

Monthly Meeting - Coffee - from bean to brew
FROM PLANTATION TO INFUSION
Everything you never knew about coffee - speaker Dr Iain Lawther.
The meeting this month looks at all the things you could ever want to know about coffee. Where and how was this wonderful drink discovered? What are the different kinds? Where are the best varieties grown? How does the humble bean become a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee?
All these questions, as well as facts about the science and medical aspects of the drink will be covered. The evening will finish with a free brew up and coffee tasting, with varieties from around the world available to try. We’ll even throw in a biscuit.
